Normie slop is the mass-market tier: the games people play without calling themselves gamers. Yearly sports games, Call of Duty, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and whatever is on everyone’s phone.

These are also some of the best-selling games ever made. The “normie” jab says more about gatekeeping than about the games.

Slop is what the internet calls content people consume on autopilot, and the “xxxSLOP” meme pins that label on a generation’s favorite games: a wall of covers, the tier name in huge letters, and a wojak pointing at it. It is affectionate; most games on these lists are genuine classics.
